Deputies tase man trying to elude a traffic stop in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Washington County deputies arrested a man after he tried to elude authorities during a traffic stop.

A deputy tried to stop the man for a minor traffic violation around 12:30 p.m. on Indian Ridge Road.

The WCSO says the man did not stop and turned onto Riddell Street. He then proceeded to drive to the dead end, got out of the car and ran into the woods.

A deputy chased the man and stopped him using a stun gun.

Deputies were trying to stop the man for a minor traffic violation.

The man could face charges of speeding, evading and drug possession. Deputies say the man is currently on probation.
