KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said the pilot and passenger are out safely after a single-engine plane crash in the French Broad River.
The plane crashed into the water near French Road, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said reports from the scene say the two people have minor injuries.
The plane reportedly hit a power line around 1:30 p.m., according to deputies. KUB reports 185 people without power in the area of the plane crash.
Island Home Airport is about 20 miles from where the plane crashed.
