KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – The television show American Pickers may soon be making a stop in east Tennessee.

american-pickers-3The show contacted the Chamber of Commerce in Kingsport and asked that they help get the word out that the show was looking for tips and submissions of areas that would be of interest to them.

If you have ever seen the show you know that Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz travel throughout the country looking for antiques such as old signs and furniture among other things.

Officials at the chamber told us they had been contacted by the show and ask to make the public aware as they were interested in visiting parts Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia during late November and early December.

Katie Prendergast of  the chamber said this would be great for the city and help make Kingsport even more visible on the map.american-pickers-2

“It would benefit Kingsport. For Kingsport to be featured on American Pickers — mostly, because there is no other Kingsport in the United States. Kingsport, TN is very unique and so to see them on American Pickers and on the History Channel would just be a really awesome to see,” said Prendergrast.

If you have or know anyone who has items that may be of interest to the host of the popular television show, they ask that you call 1-855-OLD-RUST (653-7878) or email the show at
