JONESBOROUGH, TN – Organizers of the annual National Storytelling Festival are calling the celebration a success.
The festival marked its 44th year in Jonesborough and drew in people from all over the world.
International Storytelling Center President Kiran Singh Sirah said the third and final day of the fest – Sunday – is his favorite.
“When people come here and they spend three days together from different parts of the world, different parts of the nation, you experience hundreds of hours of stories, you go to sleep you wake up you do it again, and then on Sunday you’re all in sync with one another,” Sirah said.
Sirah said he does not know the exact number of people that showed up yet but estimates it is between 9,500 to 10,000.
