HAWKINS COUNTY, TN (WJHL)- After more than two months on the run, and causing thousands of dollars in damage in yards across Mount Carmel, the pig has finally been captured.

According to Mount Carmel Assistant Police Chief, George Copas, the pig was corralled Saturday afternoon in Mount Carmel thanks to the help of a family from the Carters Valley area.

Copas said the family brought dogs with them to aid in the search, and within a few minutes were able to use the dogs to corner the pig.

The pig was captured and unharmed according to police.

Details about where the pig was captured were limited Saturday afternoon, but Copas said their focus is now relocating the pig and finding it a good home.

The pig originally escaped from the back porch of a home in the Hammond Estates area of Mount Carmel.
