Greeneville police arrest man on assault, drug charges

GREENEVILLE, TN (WJHL) – A man was arrested on multiple charges including assault, endangerment, as well as drug charges, after he reportedly left a traffic stop with an elderly woman in the vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Greeneville.

According to a Greeneville Police report, Timothy Lowery was pulled over by an officer because one of his brake lights was not working.

After telling the officer that he needed to get his grandmother to a doctor’s appointment, Lowery sped away.

He was later found in a residence on Scenic Drive. When officers arrived, Lowery was hiding under a blanket in a back room.

Officers found that Lowery was carrying a partial Suboxone strip and .4 grams of methamphetamine.

Lowery also had active warrants for aggravated assault, domestic vandalism and a summons for driving on a suspended license.

He was additionally charged with felony evading arrest, felony reckless endangerment, driving on a suspended license and schedule II and schedule III drug violations.
