JONESBOROUGH (WJHL) — If you’re looking for a good book to curl up with on a cool fall night, a group in Jonesborough has you covered.

The group Friends of the Library will hold a book sale to raise funds for the Jonesborough and Gray libraries. The organization is encouraging members of the community to donate their unwanted books to the sale.

This is one of the group’s largest fundraisers for the year.  In the past funds from this fundraiser have purchased equipment, helped with renovations, and purchased furnishings. The Friends of the Library are the sole support for the libraries’ teen programs, children’s story time and summer reading programs.

The group is also looking for volunteers to sort the books, set up for the sale, and staff the sale itself.

If you are interested in volunteering, you may call the Jonesborough Library at (423) 753-1800.

Organizers say members of the Gray or Jonesborough libraries will receive 10% off their entire purchase.

The Friends of the Library fall book sale runs September 29th through October 1st. It will be at the storytelling tent in the Jonesborough Library parking lot.

Hours are as follows:

Thursday: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
