JCPB: Lane closures on I-26 scheduled for Thursday, Friday for LED lighting installation

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – The Johnson City Power Board announced Tuesday that drivers should expect lane closures on Interstate 26 later this week for LED street lighting installation.

According to a news release, the lane closures will take place Thursday and possibly on Friday on I-26 between the Market Street on-ramp and the Watauga/Unaka Avenue interchange.

JCPB officials said the right-hand, westbound lane heading towards North Johnson City will be closed along that stretch of the interstate from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. to allow for the LED light installation.

JCPB crews plan to finish the work Thursday, but said lane closures may be needed on Friday.
