Bristol, Va. man to face multiple meth charges


BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – A Bristol, Va. man was charged on multiple methamphetamine charges Monday.

According to a Washington County, Va. Sheriff’s Office news release, a federal search warrant was executed at a home on Benhams Road in Bristol, Va. by sheriff’s deputies, the DEA and the Abingdon Police Department.

One person, Michael Lee Braswell, 44, was arrested and charged with four felony drug violations including possession with intent to manufacture 28 grams or more methamphetamine, possess precursors to manufacture methamphetamine, allow a minor under the age of 15 to be present while manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

According to Sheriff Fred Newman, information was received about methamphetamine being made at that location.

Braswell was taken to the Southwest Regional Jail in Abingdon, Va., where he was being held without bond.
