JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – The 16th annual Buddy Walk will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at the ETSU Intramural Fields.
The Buddy Walk is a fundraiser for the group F.R.I.E.N.D.S. — an organization that connects families of children with Down syndrome to one another.
The event will involve a one-mile walk, followed by games, activities and fun for the whole family.
Organizer Caroline Hood said every year it is like a party for their families.
“It’s just a fun time to get together and talk with families, and just laugh and enjoy life with our children,” Hood said.
Food will be served after the walk. The cost is free for children with Down syndrome. A fundraising charge is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
Events will kick off at 10:30 a.m. and last until 2:30 p.m.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S. provides services and community for families that are affected by Down syndrome.
