Report of sexual assault at ETSU unfounded


JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – East Tennessee State University’s Department of Public Safety confirmed Monday that a report of sexual assault on Sept. 14 was deemed unfounded.

According to a prior release, a student reported that a sexual assault had happened an academic classroom building on Sept. 14. ETSU Public Safety issued a release about the alleged sexual assault on Sept. 15.

The complainant later told Public Safety that the sexual assault did not happen.

According to the updated release, the matter is under review by student affairs.

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – An East Tennessee State University student filed a report of sexual assault to the Department of Public Safety Thursday.

According to an ETSU Public Safety news release, a female student reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male student acquaintance.

Public Safety officers are currently investigating.
