CHURCH HILL, TN (WJHL) – Church Hill Police Department officers arrested a man on numerous charges Thursday after he was seen by officers driving a stolen vehicle out of Bristol, Va.
According to a CHPD news release, officers conducting patrol around Shelby Avenue saw Sean Ryan Wilson, of Mount Carmel driving a black Jeep Cherokee without wearing his seat belt.
Officers followed Wilson on Old Stage Road and saw him run a stop sign at the intersection of Carolyn Avenue and Old Stage Road.
Wilson’s vehicle continued eastbound and then turned left on Montgomery Avenue.
Officers attempted to stop Wilson and learned through central dispatch that Wilson’s vehicle was reported stolen out of Bristol, Va.
Wilson reportedly slowed down and then sped off northbound on Montgomery Avenue, turned right onto Cedar Street and into the Mount Carmel city limits.
According to the report, officers continued to conduct a traffic stop and Wilson then turned the vehicle left onto Dover Avenue.
Officers reportedly lost sight of the vehicle and a woman called 911 saying that Wilson had pulled into her driveway on Elm Street and almost hit her.
The woman said the Wilson, who she was familiar with, allegedly pulled into a garage behind the home and ran on foot.
According to the release, additional officers found Wilson on Main Street in Mount Carmel near Hardees.
Once in custody, Wilson gave officers a false name and a check through NCIC showed he did not have a valid drivers license.
Wilson was taken to the Hawkins County Jail.
He was charged with seat belt violation, stop sign violation, speeding, felony evading by motor vehicle, theft over $1,000, no driver’s license, felony reckless endangerment and criminal impersonation.
