JCPD wins American Red Cross News Channel 11 Battle of the Badges

TRI-CITIES, TN (WJHL) – The numbers are in and the winner has been announced for this year’s American Red Cross News Channel 11 Battle of the Badges.

On Friday, the winning first responder team received its plaque and for the third year in a row the Johnson City Police Department came out on top.

People in the community were asked to donate blood and then vote for their favorite first responder team.

Johnson City Police said it’s a big honor to gain bragging rights again this year.

In second place was a tie between the Erwin Police Department and the Elizabethton Police Department.

Johnson City Fire Department came in third and the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office came in fourth.
