LOS GATOS, CA (WCMH) — Netflix is declaring war on internet service providers who impose data caps on users.

CNN reports The streaming service is asking the FCC to push companies to end the practice, calling it unreasonable and unfair.

Several service providers charge users more after they use a certain amount of data.

Netflix claims the average American needs 300 gigabytes of data per month to meet streaming television needs. The company also says the data-limited plans discourage people from using broadband and watching IOnternet television whenever they want to.

Netflix also wants to raise low data caps offered by cellphone companies, calling them unreasonably limiting.
