Wanted man arrested after shooting in Sullivan County, TN

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – A man is behind bars after a shooting at a home located on Bishop Road in the Sullivan Gardens area. The shooting happened around 6:00 p.m.

Deputies said when they arrived, they found 44-year-old David Hampton with a gunshot wound to his right leg. Hampton told officers he went to the home to recover stolen property.

According to Hampton, 33-year-old Jeremy Catron charged at him with a gun and shot him.

Currently, officers with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office are in the process of collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to determined what happened.

Hampton was taken to Holston Valley Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers also found out there was a warrant out for Catron. He was arrested and taken to the Sullivan County Jail and charged with failure to appear.

No other details about this case were released to the public.
