SMYTH COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – Virginia State Police troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash in Smyth County Tuesday.
According to a VSP news release, troopers responded to mile marker 53 on Interstate 81 in Smyth County, where two tractor trailers crashed in the southbound lanes around 3:20 p.m.
VSP said one of the tractor trailers was hauling a mobile home and the crash caused the tractor trailer to jackknife and overturn in the road.
The driver of that tractor trailer received non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
According to VSP, the southbound lanes of I-81 were cleared and reopening by 7:15 p.m.
