Tri-Cities VT Hokies fan loses bet after team falls to UT in Battle at Bristol

BRISTOL, TN (WJHL)- Some Hokies fans here in the Tri-Cities are still feeling the sting from the Vols win at the Battle at Bristol, and that includes someone who lost a bet.

We captured Debbie Boggs cheering at the corner of State Street and Volunteer Parkway at the countdown clock.

Boggs is a Virginia Tech fan that works in Bristol, and said she lost a bet with her boss at work.

“Whoever was the loser had to wave for 5 minutes while the other was holding a sign, he or she lost the bet, we had a good time it was a lot of fun,” Boggs said.

Boggs was holding a sign that read, Honk if you love VT, and her boss was standing next to her with a sign that read, she picked VT and lost the bet.

Boggs said quite a few people honked while she stood out there and waved.

Despite the loss Boggs was still a good sport and came through with her end of the bet.
