Tearful ceremony honors Daniel Boone junior Kaylee Rabun, victim of Morristown car accident

GRAY, TN (WJHL) – Hundreds of students, parents, faculty and staff met at Daniel Boone High School for prayer vigil mourning the loss of 16-year-old Kaylee Rabun.

Hundreds came out to hold hands in prayer and reflect on a life taken too soon. Rabun was a member of the Lady Blazers volleyball team and in a tearful ceremony she was remembered as always having a smile on her face.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash happened in Morristown Saturday afternoon.

A preliminary police report said the car lost control on Interstate 81, veered off the left side of the road, and drove over the median. THP said the driver veered back and over-corrected, the crash is under investigation.

DBHS student, Ryan Sanders was injured in the crash.

DBHS Principal, Tim Campbell said he doesn’t want to comment until he speaks with the Rabun family further. Funeral arrangements are still unknown.
