BRISTOL, TN (WJHL) – University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech football gear has arrived at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS).
Friday morning, News Channel 11 got a behind the scenes look at the Volunteer’s and Hokie’s locker rooms.
Each locker room is located directly behind the team’s respective end zones.
The Vols moved their gear in Thursday and the Hokies will begin bringing their equipment in Friday.
BMS officials told News Channel 11’s Micah Smith in both locker rooms, teams will find speedway memorabilia to add a NASCAR touch to this game.
“We worked closely with the universities to make sure that we could make the locker rooms functional and then make it feel special. We wanted it to still have a NASCAR feel to it so they could remember where they were for this historic game,” said Bristol Motor Speedway General Manager Jerry Caldwell.
Caldwell said they designed each locker room so that it feels like a home away from home for the teams.
Caldwell also said players from both teams will receive a “Battle at Bristol” rings after the game.
