ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ to broadcast from Battle at Bristol

BRISTOL, TN (WJHL)- ESPN’s Emmy award winning ‘College GameDay’ is set up outside Bristol Motor Speedway ahead of the live broadcast Saturday morning.

On Friday afternoon we got a chance to speak to some of the commentators for the show like College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

Herbstreit said this monumental match up will be unlike anything the Vols and Hokies have experienced.

“Just to come out of the locker room, and look up and see 150,000 plus, no one has ever done that in the history of the sport, so if I’m a player, that’s cool, you get over it, now you got to go try to win a game,” Herbstreit said.

We asked Herbstreit about his thoughts on the atmosphere at Bristol and what its going to be like to hold the game at the last great colosseum.

“Looking at the field, it looks that big compared to the stands, and compared to the track that’s around it. I’m wondering how thats going to impact the players when they are in this huge cathedral, compared to being in just a smaller stadium,” Herbstreit said.

ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ kicks off coverage Saturday at 9am
