JOHNSON CITY, TN – An American food icon made a stop in the Tri-Cities Thursday.
Mr. Peanut and his Nut Mobile, a 26-foot-long peanut-shaped vehicle, travelled to Johnson City.
This particular car travels the east coast and has been to 15 different states.
“We actually just drove from Massachusetts to here, so we hit like 6 on the way down, it was pretty cool,” Jody Peterson, a Peanutter – or brand specialist – said.
Mr. Peanut is celebrating his 100th birthday this year.
“You see these icons, you see these brands and you don’t really realize how long they’ve been here, but Planters has been here working with the community,” said Peterson. “We travel across the whole country doing grocery stores like this to show how much we do care about the people.”
The Peanutters and Mr. Peanut will be in Tennessee until Saturday.
