Science Hill holds media day

JOHNSON CITY, TN- The Science Hill football team headed to Kermit Tipton Stadium Saturday morning for its media day.

The Hilltoppers are coming off a 9-3 season, but saw some key players depart via graduation, including starting quarterback Jake Bedard who signed with Cornell. But with big starters returning to both the offensive and defensive line, the team feels confident heading into the 2016 season.

“It’s a new team,” said Science Hill head coach Stacy Carter. “Every year, even though you had success from last year, it’s still a new personality, new team. The system’s in place. The expectations are high for the whole program right now.”

“We look great,” said senior linebacker Brandon Tolley. “We’re running the ball really well right now. Defense is holding up strong against the run. We’re getting better in pass coverage, but by week one we should be all around great.”

“A lot more leadership than we did last year, so everybody’s building up off of each other,” said senior defensive end Nakiya Smith. “When somebody gets down, everybody’s just picking them up. We’re working hard, sweating, so we’re pretty good.”
