NASHVILLE, TN (WJHL) – An inmate who walked away from a work detail with Riverbend Maximum Security Prison in Davidson County on Thursday was captured Friday afternoon.
According to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation news release, Quinton Stewart, who was being housed in the Riverbend facility while serving a 25 year sentence for second-degree murder from Rutherford County, walked away from his work detail and was placed on TBI’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” list.
On Friday, Tennessee Department of Correction agents found Stewart walking along a wooded road in Coffee County in the Beech Grove community.
Stewart was arrested and taken to Morgan County Correctional Complex, where charges are pending.
According to the release, Stewart’s sentence for the second-degree murder charge was set to expire in Oct. 2019.
