JOHNSON CITY, TN — East Tennessee State University’s postal service has become Postal and Passport Services with the addition of the capability to accept passport applications on behalf of the United States Department of State.
The office, located on the first floor of ETSU’s D.P. Culp University Center, will hold a ribbon-cutting grand opening ceremony on Monday, Aug. 8, at 1:30 p.m.
Dr. David Collins, ETSU Vice President for Finance and Administration says, “We are very happy about this new service and what it provides to the ETSU faculty, staff and students, but, by offering these services to the public, it also demonstrates the close relationship we have in supporting the entire local community. We are most excited about the convenience of a one-stop visit for getting a passport and photo, especially for students involved in study abroad programs.”
Postal and Passport Services offers all the products and services needed to submit a new passport application including passport photos, passport application acceptance and photocopy service.
Expedited processing includes Priority Mail Express delivery of the passport with free tracking.
The office can assist customers who wish to purchase USPS money orders for payments or they may pay by credit card.
Any U.S. citizens may apply for passports Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. While walk-ins are welcome, customers may make appointments.
