Sullivan Co. family stops by sheriff’s office with treats to say ‘thank you’

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – A Sullivan County family made a stop at the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Monday morning to show their appreciation and love for officers.

Melanie Mathews and her three children stopped by the Blountville office to deliver water, Gatorade and some snacks.

The family said they’ve seen officers across the country go through so much recently that they wanted to make sure officers knew they had their support.

“We want to say thank you to those that protect us and serve us, and we’re trying to instill that in our children,” Mathews said

The children also included letters of thanks to the sheriff’s office along with the care package.

The family was then given a tour of the sheriff’s office.
