Trump and Pence visit Roanoke for a town hall

ROANOKE, VA (WSLS/WJHL) –  Donald Trump and Mike Pence are coming to our region. The two of them will have a town hall meeting in Roanoke, VA.

This comes a few days after Hillary Clinton announce Virginia Senator Tim Kaine as her running mate. But Kaine doesn’t want to lose his home state. The senator was in Virginia Sunday and he was seen talking with local firefighters outside their station.

The townhall meeting will take place inside the Hotel  Roanoke Convention Centers. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump and his vice presidential running mate Indiana Governor Mike Pence will bring their campaign to Roanoke Monday.

WHAT TIME DOES IT START?

The town hall event at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center with Trump and Pence begins at 3 p.m.

Doors open at 1 p.m.

WILL ANY ROADS WILL BE CLOSED BECAUSE OF THE EVENT?

Pence-Trump road closures

The following roads will be closed from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

  • North Jefferson Street between Shenandoah Avenue and Wells Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic;
  • Wells Avenue between Commonwealth Avenue and Jordan Alley will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
  • Wells Ave between Williamson Road and Gainsboro Road closed to through traffic

Police are working to minimize any traffic distributions.
