MUNICH (AP) – German police say there’s no evidence of terror connections with the 18-year-old who opened fire at a crowded Munich shopping mall and fast-food restaurant, killing nine people and wounding 16 others. But they say the gunman who later killed himself was obsessed with mass shootings.
A Munich police investigator also says it appears that the shooter hacked a Facebook account and sent a message urging people to come to the mall for a free giveaway.
Police say the gunman was born and raised in Munich and was under psychiatric care for depression.
The mayor of Munich has declared a day of mourning for the victims.
