RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory calls the NBA’s decision to move its “All star game” to a different location “Political correctness gone too far”.
The NBA made the decision to pull out because of a House Bill 2 a law limiting protections for LGBT people by restricting transgender bathroom access, the departure from Charlotte will cost the state an estimated $100 million dollars in economic impact.
Entertainers like Bruce Springsteen have canceled concerts to protest the law, while 68 businesses signed a legal brief urging a judge to block the provision on bathroom access.
On Friday, McCrory spoke with Charlotte radio station WFAE and said the NBA’s decision was “total P.C.B.S”
