ELIZABETHTON, TN- The Elizabethton Twins beat the Johnson City Cardinals on Saturday 6-5.
The Twins blew the game open in the 5th inning. Elizabethton scored 4 runs, including a two-run home run by Alex Kirilloff, to take a 6-1 lead.
Johnson City would make things interesting in the 6th inning, scoring three runs to cut the deficit to just two. Another Cardinals’ run in the 8th would make it a 6-5 game.
But the Twins’ Patrick McGuff ended the hopes of a comeback, getting a strikeout to end the ballgame.
