TRI-CITIES, TN/VA (WJHL) – Next Thursday, local Dairy Queens in our area will host Miracle Treat Day.
The restaurant chain hosts the event each year to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN).
Participating DQ restaurants in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will donate $1 to CMN for every blizzard sold, which will help buy state-of-the-art equipment for pediatric, neonatal, birthing and emergency units in local CMN hospitals.
Wellmont Health System says it has served as the region’s Children’s Miracle Network affiliate for 30 years, and all money collected in the area through this event and other fundraisers stays local.
Wellmont says CMN played an instrumental role in the campaign to relocate and expand the NICU at Holston Valley Medical Center. Construction has begun and it is expected to be complete by this fall.
“Children’s Miracle Network partners such as Dairy Queen are vital to our success, and we appreciate the company’s ongoing support of our initiatives to improve the lives of children in our region,” said Todd Norris, Wellmont’s senior vice president for system advancement and Wellmont Foundation‘s president. “The generosity of Dairy Queen and other local and national sponsors helps make it possible for us to deliver high-quality, leading-edge care for children of all ages.”
