Dickenson Co. shooting victims remain in hospital, accused shooter arraigned

DICKENSON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – The three people who were injured in a shooting in Dickenson County Tuesday morning were said to still be in the hospital Thursday.

A Wellmont Health System representative confirmed to News Channel 11 that Glenna Robbins, David Robbins and Teresa Sykes remain in Holston Valley Medical Center, after they were shot by Jamie Sykes around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

According to earlier reports, Sykes opened fire on his wife, Teresa Sykes, and his in-laws, David and Glenna Robbins, before barricading himself inside his Hill Ridge Drive home.

VSP said Sykes later was arrested peacefully.

On Thursday, we learned that Teresa Sykes, who was listed in serious condition, is now in fair condition.

David Robbins, who was listed in fair condition, is now in good condition.

Glenna Robbins remains in critical condition.

Jamie Sykes, charged with attempted murder and assault, was arraigned by video Wednesday in General District Court. He was appointed an attorney and was given a preliminary hearing date of July 26.
