JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- After heavy rain and strong winds plowed through the Tri-Cities region Friday night, one local power company is saying it could take up to two days to fully restore power.
According to officials with the Johnson City Power Board at the height of the storm Friday, at least 52,000 customers were without power, that is about 67.5 percent of JCPB customers.
Officials with JCPB say more crews are on the way to Washington County in order to finish repairing the damage across the area.
They want to remind customers to stay away from fallen power lines and not to attempt to remove debris entangled in power lines.
