Tennessee town to honor fallen Blue Angel at Fourth of July celebration

SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) – The town of Smyrna will honor fallen Blue Angels pilot Marine Captain Jeff Kuss at its July Fourth celebration Friday.

The show and fireworks display will be held at Lee Victory Park, across from the Smyrna Airport, on Sam Ridley Parkway.

Mayor Mary Esther Reed told News 2 it was important for the city to honor Kuss.

“It’s been a really tough time, but it’s been a really special time, to see how our citizens have reacted and I think you’re gonna see the exact same thing on Friday night,” said Reed.

We’re celebrating the Fourth of July, but we’re also celebrating the life of Captain Jeff Kuss.”

Music, food and activities for the kids begin at 5 p.m. with the fireworks scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
