2015 champion William Nottingham from Kingsport, TN posted a first round 6-under par 65 to open the 2016 Tennessee Junior Amateur Championship. He then followed it up with a second round 2-under par 69. Nottingham began round three with a single shot lead and was quickly pursued by Bryce Lewis of Hendersonville, TN. Lewis would share the lead mid-way through the front nine, but Nottingham remained steady and was able to make some big time birdies at The Legacy’s par -4, 11th and par-5, 14th. Nottingham’s 3-under par 68 gave him a total of 11-under par for the championship.
With this win Nottingham becomes only the sixth person in history to win consecutive Tennessee Junior Amateur Championships.
