BRISTOL, TN (WJHL) – If you have not laid eyes on Colossus at Bristol Motor Speedway. Here is your chance. BMS is opening its gates to members of the Tri-Cities community for a special event.
On Wednesday, July 6 the speedway will host a family movie night featuring the Dreamworks movie Turbo – a story of a lovable garden snail who yearns to escape the slow and cautious community and pursue the dream of the greatest racer in the world.
Before the movie, BMS will offer activities including inflatables and interactive games. The Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Rast Chevrolet Camaro pace car and the BMC trophy will be on display.
Entry is free. Seating for the movie will be located on the backstretch of Bristol Motor Speedway. You can bring your own cooler to the speedway. Also, concessions will sell snack foods and drinks.
“We want to give the local community the opportunity to experience the power of Colossus TV through a fun-filled family night at the track,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. “With the highest viewing quality of any outdoor permanent display in the world and a crystal clear 485-speaker sound system, it will bring Turbo to life in a whole new way that folks won’t want to miss this special event.”
Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. with the movie scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. To cap off the night, a small fireworks display will follow after the movie, in honor of Independence Day. Tickets for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race are still available by visiting http://www.BristolTix.com or calling (855) 580-5525. Tickets start at just $74.
