JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- Saturday afternoon the Johnson City Cardinals threw a special event just for the fans.
Fan Fest was a chance for people to tour the ballpark, meet the players, and see the new uniforms.
Fans also got a glimpse at the ballparks new logo and name, TVA Credit Union Ballpark.
Tammy Combs with Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union was on hand for the event.
“We purchased the rights to name the ballpark in March this year, and we are doing that because we love giving back to the community, and we think being here at the ballpark, partnering with them is one of the best ways to do that, its affordable, family fun, that the family can come and spend some time and we can invest in the community,” Combs said.
General Manager for the Johnson City Cardinals’ Tyler Parsons said fans also got a look at some of the renovations they have been working on.
“Brand new locker rooms is the first thing right there, we are building a brand new party deck here on the third base side so probably got a few more days until that is all completed. Every renovation we have done here, every dollar we have spent is to improve our fans experience here to make it easier and more convenient for them, and make it a better atmosphere,” Parsons said.
After touring the grounds, fans were also invited to watch the Cardinals open practice.
