Teen passenger in Sullivan Co. car crash critically injured

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – A teenage passenger who was ejected from a car in a single-vehicle crash in Sullivan County on Monday evening was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol report listed Morgan Malcolm, 16, Kingsport, as the passenger in a vehicle traveling south on U.S. Hwy 11W, just past Reedy Creek Road around 4:40 p.m. Monday when the driver swerved to miss debris in the road.

The report said two of the car’s tires left the road and the driver overcorrected, going off the road and down a small embankment before going back up the embankment and rolling several times.

The driver was also taken to the hospital.
