CARTER COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – A woman who turned herself in after being featured on a News Channel 11 report had her bond revoked recently for missing a court date.
Amber Ray was indicted by a Carter County grand jury in 2015 for rape of a child. Elizabethton police began investigating Ray in March 2015 after two juveniles reported separate incidents involving her back in 2012 and 2013.
Those statements described sexual contact with a child under the age of 13.
Ray turned herself in shortly after she was the subject of a June 2015 Monday’s Most Wanted report on WJHL News Channel 11.
Ray was released from jail on $50,000 bond but according to court records that bond was revoked after she missed a May 13 court date. She was scheduled to be released from jail on July 1.
Her next court date was scheduled for Aug. 5.
