BMS General Manger Jerry Caldwell discusses Battle at Bristol concert

BRISTOL, TN- Bristol Motor Speedway gave football fans some exciting news on Tuesday. Kenny Chesney, The Band Perry and Old Dominion will perform at the Speedway the night before the Battle at Bristol football game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

“This has been talked about from the beginning and something we worked hard on,” said Bristol Motor Speedway General Manager Jerry Caldwell. “We’re just so excited to bring all this together.”

The Speedway wanted to find local talent for its show and found it in a big way. Kenny Chesney attended East Tennessee State, with the members of Band Perry hailing from Greenville and Old Dominion forming in Nashville.

“It’s like a homecoming for all of these folks and that’s what we say when people come for races, ‘Welcome home to Bristol.'”, said Caldwell. “This is welcome home to the Band Perry, to Kenny Chesney and Old Dominion. We’re going to have the biggest college football game ever, we might as well have the biggest tailgate party ever and who better to do that than the folks from this region and who know this region and love this region as much as we all do.”
