UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL)– The rain did not stop hundreds from attending the 14th Annual Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival Saturday.
The Unicoi County festival featured live entertainment, food, artisans, and lots of strawberries.
Steve Scott with Scott’s Strawberries said by noon they had already sold over 500 buckets.
“They do really well at the festival,” he said. “It’s 3 quarts for 10 dollars, and they can carry around them around really easy, so it works out really well.”
The festival began with a parade at 9a.m., and wrapped up at 5p.m.
Admission was free and all funds raised in town-sponsored competitions went towards Unicoi County’s new Mountain Harvest kitchen.
