Man charged with arson, reckless endangerment after setting vehicle on fire

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man Friday on multiple charges including arson, following a report of a vehicle on fire on South Roan Street.

According to a JCPD news release, officers were called to a parking lot at 1920 S. Roan St., where a man was reportedly seen running from the scene.

When officers arrived, they located the man – Adam Joshua Porter, 31 – and he was detained.

Porter was later developed as the suspect who set the fire and was arrested.

He was charged with arson, reckless endangerment and auto burglary and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $21,000 bond.

Porter was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Monday at 1:30 p.m.
