JOHNSON CITY, TN – East Tennessee State University announced today a new enterprise-level academic alliance with Adobe that will offer one-of-a-kind learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students while providing the university with state-of-the-art digital marketing tools. Through its digital marketing, content creation and document solutions, Adobe is changing the world through digital experiences.
“Alliances have been a hallmark throughout the history of East Tennessee State University, and today we continue that tradition as we become the first academic institution in the nation to work with Adobe to implement Adobe Marketing Cloud in curriculum,” said ETSU President Dr. Brian Noland. “I want to thank the leaders of Adobe for joining us and for this opportunity to provide our students with an amazing educational experience that will prepare them well for the job market.”
As part of this alliance, ETSU faculty will integrate solutions, or tools, from Adobe Marketing Cloud into the curriculum of several academic programs, giving students the opportunity to learn on an industry-leading platform, according to Dr. Stephen Marshall, chair of the ETSU Department of Mass Communication.
“We are excited to pioneer this first-ever program with Adobe to teach Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions in our courses,” Marshall added. “We are giving students the digital tools they need to enter the workforce. The job market for digital marketers is hot and Adobe has been an amazing educational partner. There is no program in the country like ours. It is a great time to study at ETSU.”
“This alliance with ETSU provides students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills essential for the next generation of digital marketers,” said Karen McCavitt, group manager, worldwide marketing for Adobe Education. “ETSU’s innovative academic program will help students improve their digital literacy to succeed in an increasingly competitive landscape.”
Adobe Marketing Cloud empowers companies to use big data to effectively reach and engage customers and prospects with highly personalized marketing content across devices and digital touch points. Eight tightly integrated Solutions offer marketers a complete set of marketing technologies that focus on analytics, web and app experience management and creation, testing and targeting, advertising, video, audience management, social engagement and campaign orchestration. The tie-in with Adobe Creative Cloud makes it easy to quickly activate creative assets across all marketing channels. Thousands of brands worldwide including two-thirds of Fortune 50 companies rely on Adobe Marketing Cloud.
Another exciting element of the alliance for students, Marshall added, will be to work in teams and assist ETSU leaders on special projects and initiatives using Adobe Marketing Cloud.
“As our students develop a greater understanding of how to use these Adobe solutions, they will assist clients on campus,” he said. “Access to these tools increase students’ overall digital literacy. This experiential learning process will serve as an excellent transition into the job market where these skills are currently in high demand across the nation.”
During a news conference today (May 4), Marshall discussed how Adobe Marketing Cloud will be integrated into several ETSU programs, including the undergraduate and graduate programs in advertising, public relations, journalism, and radio, television, video and film; the M.S. degree program in digital marketing; and the doctoral program in global sport leadership.
“We are having conversations with leaders of other academic programs about possible interdisciplinary collaborative opportunities,” Marshall said.
The alliance intends to extend Adobe Marketing Cloud tools to the entire university. During the news conference, plans were discussed to transition the infrastructure of the university web site to Adobe Marketing Cloud.
