Bean Station man assaults deputy on school property

MOORESBURG, TN (WJHL) – A Bean Station man was arrested Friday at Mooresburg Elementary School in Hawkins County.

According to a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Report, Christopher Wayne Johnson was wanted on two warrants from Grainger County. When confronted by deputies, Johnson struck one of them in the eye and damaged one of their uniforms.

After the struggle, deputies found that Johnson had several small baggies, allegedly containing Methamphetamine.

Johnson was also carrying a small black pouch in his pocket that contained a syringe and other drug paraphernalia. According to the report, he was also carrying 108 empty baggies.

He was taken to Hawkins County Jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, drug-free school zone violation, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, and destruction of city/county property.
