ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL)– Main Street in Erwin was closed Saturday for the first annual Great Outdoors Festival.
The festival began Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on Main Street in Erwin, and was created to help everyone embrace their love for nature.
“It was created by the Town of Erwin and the downtown merchants because we believe Unicoi County is beautiful, with hiking and the mountains, and the river, and just everything this county has to offer,” said organizer, and owner of Bramble event venue, Kristen Anders.
Vendors sold hiking equipment, outdoor decor, plants, and crafts, just to name a few.
Anders said they were overwhelmed by the amount of people who showed up, and are already planning for next year’s festival.
“This is our first year and it has taken a lot of organization from the town’s perspective,” said Anders. “Everyone has really come together and it’s been great.”
