ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — Main Street in Erwin was closed Friday night as merchants prepare for a new outdoor festival.
The first annual Great Outdoors Festival begins Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on Main Street in Erwin.
Vendors were busy setting up hiking equipment, outdoor decor, plants, crafts and much more Friday night.
Organizers said there will be live music, food, and even a kid’s craft area.
“We’re highlighting everything outdoor related,” said organizer Jamie Rice. “So, whether you are hiking on the Appalachian Trail, or rafting on the river, or you are in your garden, planting flowers it is all nature inspired.”
Live music will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. Bands scheduled to perform include: The Comet Conductors, Under The Table, Amythyst, These Are The Angels and Soulfinger.
The Comet Conductors will perform from 10 to 11 a.m.; Amythyst will take the stage from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Under the Table will perform from 1 to 2 p.m.; These Are The Angels take the stage from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; and Soulfinger will perform from 4 to 5 p.m.
“This is our first year and it has taken a lot of organization from the town’s perspective,” said organizer Kristin Anders. “Everyone has really come together and it’s been great.”
