CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Several law enforcement agencies aide in the arrest of a Clarksville man accused of trafficking a teenage girl for sex.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, they received information from the National Human Trafficking Hotline this week regarding Michael Helton.
TBI agents then developed information Helton was an unregistered sex offender and was trafficking a 17-year-old girl for the purpose of providing a commercial sex act at a motel in Clarksville.
The 34-year-old was arrested Thursday night and charged with one count of trafficking for a commercial sex act.
He was booked into the Montgomery County jail where he was being held on $55,000 bond.
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and the Child Advocacy Center are assisting TBI in caring for the recovered teen.
