Former teacher accused of child sex crimes to serve another year in prison

WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – A former Tri-Cities school teacher accused of child sex crimes has received more time in prison.

A judge sentenced Robert Mullins to serve another year behind bars Thursday in Washington County, Va. court.

Mullins pleaded guilty to taking indecent liberties with a child by someone in a custodial or supervisory relationship.

Investigators said the victims were students.

Mullins already received a year in prison on the same charges in Bristol, Va.

The judge ordered him to register as a sex offender.

Mullins was a teacher and wrestling coach at John S. Battle High School in Bristol.
