JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – A third East Tennessee State University student was charged in connection with an off-campus shots fired investigation.
Johnson City police and ETSU public safety officers were called to the off-campus apartment complex Student Quarters, 1301 Seminole Drive, Monday afternoon after getting reports of a fight and shots fired at that location.
One ETSU student, Tracon Hawkins, was charged that day with unlawful possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
Later that day another student was charged after police entered his room in the apartment complex during the course of the original investigation and found drugs. As a result of that, police charged Gad Nagba, also a student, with drug charges.
Then on Thursday, ETSU public safety charged Kendall S. Lawrence with carrying weapons on school property.
That charge stemmed from the investigation into the shots fired call, according to a school spokesman, who also confirmed Lawrence was a student.
According to a court document, a loaded 9mm handgun was found inside Lawrence’s vehicle.
Lawrence was being held on $10,000 bond in the Washington County Detention Center.
