Victims injured in Bristol, Va. shooting remain hospitalized

BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – Two people critically injured in a shooting that happened Friday in Bristol, Va. were still in the hospital Monday.

WCSO’s Maj. Byron Ashbrook said Gregory Slagle, the step-son of the deceased shooting suspect, Jerry Wayne Booher, 69, is expected to be released soon from the hospital.

Lucy Booher, Jerry Booher’s wife, is still in the hospital, but Maj. Ashbrook said her condition has improved.

“Mrs. Booher’s current condition makes it extremely difficult to conduct a full interview,” Ashbrook said. “The investigation is continuing in order to obtain a clearer picture of a motive for the incident.”

According to the release, interviews are being conducted and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
