KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL)– Hundreds of people flocked to Kingsport this weekend for the 4th annual Carousel Fine Craft Show and the Brass Ring Gala preview party.
The Brass Ring Gala preview party opened with music, hors d’oeuvres, and a meet-and-greet with the artists.
The Carousel Fine Craft Show featured professional craftspeople and artists in a variety of media. Fine furniture, woodwork, ceramics, metal art, jewelry, glass and textiles were on exhibit and for sale to the public.
Cultural arts administrator, William Stephanos said fine craft is different from arts and crafts because, fine craft refers to the production of arts and goods reliant on the craft-person’s skill.
“We have professional artists representing and exhibiting their work,” said Stephanos. “The public is invited to not only look at the artwork and fine craft but to interact with the artist themselves as well.”
The 29 artists were available to talk to visitors and conduct live demonstrations.
Day passes were $3 for one day and $5 for two days. A free carousel ride was included with the ticket.
